Laser Engraving

Laser engraving removes a fine layer of material along the artwork, so the mark is cut into the product instead of printed onto it. It is used on wood, metal and some coated or anodised surfaces, and it does not wear off.

The contrast depends entirely on the material: engraving reads as a dark burn on wood, a light frost on dark anodised metal, and almost invisibly on some clear or white plastics. That is worth checking against the actual product before artwork is finalised.

What to send

  • Vector artwork with the mark at its final size
  • The product, or its link, so the material can be checked
  • A note on whether a filled or outlined mark is preferred
